Expedition - The Grijalba Route
In order to put its sovereignty into effect, the Government of Oceana is planning an expedition to the equatorial Pacific.
This expedition will leave from the port of Paita, in Peru, land on the island of Revillagigedo, in Mexico, and will try to follow the route of Hernando de Grijalva in his discovery of the islands of Os Guedes, Coroa, Pescadores and Matador, finishing in New Guinea.
Because of the complexity of the trip, the months between December of 2015 to May of 2016 are being considered as possible dates. The study of the organization and marketing of the expedition will be entrusted to a specialized firm of renown repute. The trip is awaiting a budget figure and will be expensive. Any possibility of sponsorship will be welcome and studied.
People interested in receiving information on this matter can send their email address to grijalva@estadodeoceana.org. Once the journey is organized, we will inform all about the price, the dates and the general conditions and registrations will commence. The members of the Government of Oceana, the sponsors and those professionals whose knowledge can be of added value to the expedition will have travel priority: doctors, geographers, historians, sailors, diplomats, biologists, photographers, journalists, etc…
The remaining vacancies will be assigned in strict order of request.
The trip could be restricted, mainly for reasons of health or age, for some people.
